New IT workplaces support BHIC in hybrid working
Determining and purchasing new IT workplaces within organizations is often based on replacing and renewing existing situations. In order to achieve the maximum result from modern IT workplaces for employees, a further look is taken today. The way of working, creating job satisfaction, sustainability and work efficiency are the basis for determining innovative IT workplaces.
A good example is the organization BHIC. Alex Janssen was asked two questions about the design of new IT workplaces. Do you recognize the situation?
What does the new design of IT workplaces mean for your employees in terms of job satisfaction and work efficiency?
“With the new IT workplaces, our employees have been given a personal choice as to which device best suits their work. This personal equipment can now also be used location-dependently, which allows for a better and more flexible arrangement of where they can perform these activities. This can be with our clients, but also from their home environment, for example.
By arranging the workplaces in this way, a distinction is made between the personal environment and a business environment. And space can also be provided to also be able to use the device for certain private purposes. Furthermore, at the physical workplace on location, it was decided to set up all of these in the same way as standard, with two screens to set up very flexibly (and therefore personally) monitor arms. Whereby the various cabling is concealed as much as possible in this arrangement.
“Using just 1 connection cable, various personal devices can be connected to this desk setup and thus the technical ICT infrastructure.”
Where do you expect this implementation of IT workplaces to contribute to innovation and sustainability within your organization?
“With the new IT workplaces, the first step has been taken to actually be able to support hybrid working of the organization. And thus to be able to facilitate working from home or remotely on a technical level. This also contributes to the sustainability aspect with regard to travel movements.
It was also decided to opt for systems that were produced more sustainably when purchasing hardware. This is done through sustainable packaging and transport. But also by a party that can provide a second life for the BHIC's outdated equipment, or parts thereof."
The results
Without specifying which Dell models and specifications were chosen, the added value of the new IT workplaces lies in optimising the new work situation.
